After the torrential rain and flooding in the area there's nothing better than to play in mud! ThelmaLou and I had soooo much fun.

Slow Recovery
After a few initial good days, Lucy collapsed and had to have emergency care. We still don't know quite what caused it. However, with patience, love and dedication, Lisa nursed her back, so that at least now she's eating by herself again and is starting to show, what a happy girl she is.
She loves her yard time----we pray that she continues to get stronger and soon be all healthy again!

Lucy's Surgery
Lucy went through extensive surgery to remove her multiple mammary tumors.
This shows what not getting a female dog spayed can do. Mammary cancer is a very prevalent cancer in unspayed dogs. A risk that can be greatly lessened by getting your dog spayed!
Lucy had to keep multiple drain catheters in place for a few days, while starting to heal.
Sweet girl---now rest and HEAL!

Indy Pit Stop
Luci was the sweetest overnight guest we could have had.
She had fun exploring the yard.
...and was a cuddly couch girl inside...didn't quite like the vinyl kitchen floor...
...but she wasn't deterred for long...she loves people too much and will be a little shadow for her future family.

At the hotel...
Sweet Luci was on her very best behavior during her travels that brought her from Michigan via Indy to Illinois. Here she's cuddling on the hotel bed.

At the shelter...
Luci was at a Michigan shelter and her time was running out. Dedicated volunteers were able to pull her, keep her and transport her to her foster home. We are so happy Luci is safe now.
